“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.”
The Jews and the Christian use a word when they are filled with immense joy and it’s a word spoken over centuries but over time, the joy started to die down, the hallelujahs no longer came from a place of happiness, it came from a place of pretend that everything is in fact joyful. Before you know it, the Hallelujahs became more broken than the hearts that said it. We love to live a peaceful life, one that is pleasant and comes straight out of a fairy tale but often times, that is just a dream you just don’t want to wake up from. But the pain of life comes to us in a way that we can’t deal with, it comes to rob us of who we are and more importantly who we can be.
Everybody talks and cares about physical health but when it comes to the matter of the mind, we don’t really give it much thought. Charles Spurgeon once said, “The mind can descend far lower than the body, for in it there are bottomless pits. The flesh can bear only a certain number of wounds and no more, but the soul can bleed in ten thousand ways, and die over and over again each hour.”
Maybe your mind is bleeding in a thousand different ways, maybe it hurts to be you. And maybe the people around you aren’t helping, maybe you go to bed every night blaming the man in the mirror for where you are right now. And maybe, just maybe you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, and you want to jump of the train in the tunnel. It stinks, it’s not fair but you are not alone. This train is filled with people who are tired of this journey like you are. You are not alone, a lot of people are hurting, a lot of them are in pain they can’t explain.
Remind yourselves once again that it is not your fault, things happened and we wish we could turn back time but sadly, the world only moves forward and so should we.
Healing lies ahead, beauty lies a little ahead. You can be stuck here in self-wallowing and pity and blame the world and curse the Lord, but healing comes when we move forward. And there are people who can get you there, people who have walked the path before, people who know which ones to take, people who knows which route to avoid and which one would give the most beauty to your journey, seek them out.
Where you are right now is not where you want to be. You want to be in a world where you truly belong and that happens when you are willing to go out and seek out the healing. Because over here it’s just pain, over there is healing and that’s where He is!
Self-care is how you take your power back.
