“I did not come into the world to prove anything. I came into the world to love everyone and everything”

Dear World,

As we were saying, the world, since its beginning has seen a lot. From frightening tyrants to warriors to peacemakers, the world has seen it all. Leaders motivating their people to murder others, Kings marching with their men into battle, battle that wipes off an entire group of people like they were nothing, and then there’s one historical figure who dawned upon humanity, and the stance that he had for human relationship was different. It was not something that the world has seen and the world found it difficult to understand the intensity of his words, and his words sure made people hate him. A person who said to love your enemies, not to turn away from those in pain, to love everyone, no matter what. You see somebody struggling? Don’t stop for a second to think if he’s your friend or if he’s your enemy, God created him the same way he created you, and he deserves to be loved despite all that you may have against that person. Now look around us, why do we have hate growing each day, and why do we let it? If only, we listened to those words, and made amends in our own lives. The spirit of hatred that rules our heart will only lead us to destruction, history proves it. What conquered the world was not the arrows of an emperor, it was not the political ideologies of a dictator, what conquered the world was Love.

Famous mystic Peace Pilgrim once said, “Of course, I love everyone I meet. How could I fail to! Within everyone is the spark of God. I am not concerned with racial or ethnic background or the colour of one’s skin; all people look to me like shining lights! I see in all creatures the reflections of God. All people are my kinfolk – people to me are beautiful!”

What if we saw everything like Christ did? What if I never saw any enemies? What if all I see when I looked around was people who are just like me, who deserve to be loved, who deserve to get through their struggles without having to curse their very existence, who deserve to go out into the world and not be looked down upon because of the way they look. And anybody who doesn’t share this sentiment cannot be called a true Child of God. And when we look around, if It’s not love that triumphs around us, then we are not doing a good job as His disciples, because if the people don’t see the Master through us, we’re doing it wrong. And our wrongdoing can heart a lot of people, when we are specifically called to do the opposite.

Sincerely,

A Broken Christian

P.S. The letter doesn’t end here, it goes on, as the fight does!
