Sincerely, A Broken Christian (S1E1)

“Watch out for each other. Love everyone and forgive everyone, including yourself. Forgive your anger. Forgive your guilt. Your shame. Your sadness. Embrace and open up your love, your joy, your truth, and most especially your heart.”

Dear World,

We live in a world that let’s hate have its way amongst us. For a generation who was taught to love and take care of each other we grew up doing the opposite. For a generation that idolises Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., we sure don’t follow in their footsteps, for a generation to make movies and songs about loving in immeasurable quantities, we sure don’t love like it, for countries that fight to be the leaders, and we sure don’t do the same when it comes to love. Now saying that is like throwing everyone under the bus and we know for sure that’s not the reality of things. We know, not everyone hates, we know, not everyone looks at somebody different differently. That’s what makes the world a beautiful place, you can motivate an entire planet hate on each other, but there is going to be a few that just won’t, a few who will choose to love no matter what, a few who lets love triumph over hatred, the world belongs to those few, God placed the earth on the arms of those few. Now, those few may not be the ones on top calling the shots, those few may not be the ones who are ruling us, but change was bought by those few, revolutions happened because of those few, the world becomes a better place each day because of those few. And across generations, there will always be those few.

As a Christian it gets tough each day because a Christian is considered the enemy in many places. A Christian is considered an enemy because he hates people of other race, because they treat people differently because of their sexual orientation, a Christian is hated because they speak out against equality because it doesn’t fit their agenda, but we are here to set the record straight, those are not true Christians. A true Christian doesn’t look at somebody else and treat him differently because their skin colour don’t match, a true Christian doesn’t look at somebody and treat them different because of whom they choose to love, a true Christian doesn’t call you out because the name on your passport cover is different, No, a true Christian doesn’t do that, and you want to know why, because they follow a guy who said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God, Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy!

A true Christian lives by this principle, and for those who live by this, it is impossible to be indifferent when they are taught to turn the other cheek. So the next time a “Christian” does something that doesn’t align with the great guys words above, just remember not all are like that. There is always a few, a few that loves, a few that wants to see a change, a few who wants to be that change.

Sincerely, A Broken Christian

P.S. The letter doesn’t end here, it goes on, as the fight does!
