Shhh…Work in Progress

“The quieter you become, the more you will be able to hear!”

Silence is something that is difficult for us to do. What we often don’t do is keep quiet and let God talk and do wonders. The reason we many times cannot see the hand of God is that we are not silent. We ask too many questions we raise many doubts, though we trust Him, it is difficult for us to be still. As children of God, our faith is summed up by the innocence and silence of a pure heart”

The reason we don’t have stillness most of the time is that we do not trust God completely. We say we trust him, but do we really? Because if we do, then our lives would be different. We trust Him, but we also lean on our own understandings many times. And that becomes a hindrance in our life. When Jesus heard the news of the demise of his friend Lazarus, Jesus stayed where he was for two more days. In other words, Jesus was silent. Did that mean that he didn’t care? No! He always cared, He never forgets about his friends. He was waiting to do a miracle. Have we ever stopped to think for a moment, that God is waiting because he wants to do a wonder in your life? Delay is not denial.

As Mr Smith once said, “God is waiting in the silence, for a heart that He can fill; He must find it cleansed and empty, with a spirit calm and still” Being silent and trusting Him proves two things, that we are finite, and that God is infinite. When we understand this, we can just relax and chill. If that God can create me and bring me thus far, He will take me even further, Why? Simply because He Can!

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart”

When the world crumbles around us, the scripture tells us not to flinch. Stand still, not because we are self-made and confident, or we are the most composed person when disaster strikes. It is simply because of what we know about God. To attain calmness for our future, just look into God’s past. How marvellous was he? How merciful, was He? Well, good news for you, it’s not just in the past, He Was, He Is, and He Will Be! So why worry? The world waits in silence when they are defeated and when they give up, but we wait in silence because we know it isn’t over. Because we know whom we have believed and put our trusts on. So, hold on to this great privilege that we have that is the comfort in letting go and resting in God to provide help, strength and safety!

Be still, Because He is still God!
