“There is no greater discovery than seeing God as the author of your destiny”
Have you seen people running around, being afraid of what is going to happen to them and not knowing whether things will be alright. You may have seen them, you maybe one of them. Many people worry about things like fate and destiny and are concerned whether what will happen to them and how their fate is going to be. Just remember that fate is just a formality, your future is in God’s hands and whatever he desires will happen in your life.
We may have struggled to trust God through life’s hardest times, take heart. People throughout history have done that, they have all taken this road of not knowing what the future holds and completely trusted in God. God’s care for us defies limitations. He loves us more than we can know and way more than we deserve.
C. S. Lewis once said, “The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.”
We’re surrounded by people who fear the future. Others may even find themselves at a point of despair over the future, thinking that God has forgotten them. Maybe for them, God hasn’t done what they hoped He would. Maybe they had certain plans, certain expectations from God, or certain goals they had hoped to reach at a particular stage of their lives, but they haven’t reached them and now they blame God for those not happening.
If you are one of those people who’ve had that feeling that God has forgotten you or that God was against you, or are we frightened about what the future holds? Then maybe it’s time to pick up that Bible and read what Jeremiah writes, “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
This simply means that whatever is missing in your lives, whatever you’re worried about, God will bring it to completion. The future in this means “the end” to “things hoped for”. It may seem like the things happening in our lives doesn’t make sense and we may not understand it, but you trust the one who’s got it all under control. If you don’t know what’s happening, trust the one who does! When the future seems uncertain and blurry, believe that God’s thoughts for you are good.
I know who holds the future,
And I know who holds my hand,
With God things don’t just happen,
Everything by Him is planned;
So as I face tomorrow,
With its problems large and small,
I’ll trust the God of miracles,
Give to Him my all.
