The God I Know (S1 E1)

“God is love. He didn’t need us. But he wanted us. And that is the most amazing thing”

Is there a moment in your life where you just think to yourself that, there is no one in the world that loves you. Your friends may abandon you, your family may not understand you and when you think there’s no reason for you to continue living and there’s nobody in this world that loves you. If you are such a person, let me introduce you to the God I know. The God I know loves you more than you know.

“Love is such a wonderful thing. And there are many types of love. Love, as it is defined by the world, can be misguided, frivolous, and selfish. Our love is not only conditional, it is also mercurial. We love based on feelings and emotions that can change from one moment to the next. God’s love transcends the human definition of love to a point that is hard for us to comprehend. God is Love, and His love is very different from human love. God’s love is unconditional, and it’s not based on feelings or emotions. He doesn’t love us because we’re lovable or because we make Him feel good; He loves us because He is love. He created us to have a loving relationship with Him, and He sacrificed His own Son to restore that relationship”

“The nature of God’s love is unchangeable. Ours alternates all to readily. If it is our habit to love God with our own affection we shall turn cold towards Him whenever we are unhappy.”

You may feel worthless, you may feel like there’s nothing in this world that likes you but keep in mind that there is a God who loves you more than you know. The beauty about God’s love is that it chose us despite our unworthiness. We were all sinners, unclean and condemned to die, but this God I know chose to pick us up from the pit and love us. He chose to give the orphan a name, a condemned sinner a home, a wretched being a reason to live.

The God I know loves you more than you know. There was no need for God to choose us or love us but he chose to do it because He is love and he poured it out on mankind. When you think you are not worth loving, His unconditional love that is in your life just keep proving that you are worth loving. Amazing, isn’t it? God knows me and still loves me. God knows that I am a sinner, yet he forgives; I am diseased, yet he heals; I am in a pit, yet he pulls me out; I am ungrateful for his good gifts, yet he gives them anyway; and I deserve justice, yet he grants mercy. Now that’s the God I know, and it’s the greatest thing in the world. To know that I am loved!
