“Where your treasure is, there your heart will also be”
This Christmas season, the one reason everybody is excited is the presents Mr. Santa Claus is going to drop for them under the tree. And little kids leave cookies and milk under the tree for Santa to enjoy in his pursuit of spreading cheer. But one thing that we always forget is, ‘the real gift is not placed under the tree, but it hung on the cross’. This season as the little kids are running behind the beautifully wrapped treasures under the tree, let us look at the real treasure, the one bleeding, the one with thorns, the one whom they scorned at, the One hanging on the cross in Golgotha! You find truth, peace and eternal life when you look into that cross and accept the sacrifice that was made on that Calvary. The treasured under the tree are temporary and short lived and can only give you momentary satisfaction, the treasure on that tree will give you something of eternal value. Millions of people in this world are on a quest to know the truth, on a journey to find something of deeper meaning, something that gives them purpose and a truer sense of existence. All these people, pass by this tree, not knowing that the answer to all their questions, the solution to all their problems is lying on that cross!
“When the door of opportunity of your storehouse opens for you, let faith and hope enter first. When your faith leads the way, you will locate the source of your hidden treasures.” When you let faith and hope enter, it comes with you and helps you find the treasure you are looking for. The world is missing hope and faith, and the world is running behind it and is chasing it in the wrong places. This year as we get ready to celebrate the Saviors birth, let’s look at it as more than just a celebration, and let’s look at it as a treasure, a treasure that the world seeks and needs. As we continue this journey waiting for Christmas, all what we’ve seen over the days is found in this treasure that you seek. And not just that, but much more.
This Christmas where is your heart? Is it on the dining table, is it below the tree? Or is it on the tree?, where the real reason for the season lies? Like a person who comes to know about great treasure hidden in a land, he would sell everything he has and would go buy that land. This season, leave everything that is pulling you back, get rid of all things that is hindering you from reaching and attaining that treasure and take a decision to embrace that treasure! When the choir sings of that Saviors birth, sing about not just his birth, but what greater things he can do in your lives.
Treasure that treasure lying on the cross!
