Where Are You Christmas? (S4 E8)

“God’s love for us is proclaimed by each sunrise”

It is the season of gifts and gifting and every present in front of the tree puts a smile on our face and its an ecstatic feeling. But the excitement that comes from tearing open the wrapping and seeing the gift inside is so immense that we sometimes even forget to take a moment to thank the person who gifted it to you. Kids tend to run and hug their moms for the gift because they know the father most probably has no clue what’s inside the box. But the experience and pleasure of the gift is so great that we forget the giver.

The same goes with the greatest gift you ever received from God, we run behind the gift and forget the giver. This season, can we take a moment to thank the giver, take a moment to tell him how much he means to us. Can we take a moment to love the giver? His love for us is so beautiful that no number of poems, songs and description in the world can truly capture it. “We should be astonished at the goodness of God, stunned that He should bother to call us by name, our mouths wide open at His love, bewildered that at this very moment we are standing on holy ground.”

But we many times we get so familiar this love that we take it for granted. God’s love many times has become so common in our life we don’t really bother to thank him. When was the last time you thanked your mom for making you lunch? Can’t remember? It’s because it has become something that is so common that it becomes a part of our life it doesn’t cross your mind to thank her. Same goes with what God has done for us, the love of God is so beautiful in our lives, we forget to thank it.

There will always be someone willing to hurt you, put you down, gossip about you, belittle your accomplishments and judge your soul. It is a fact that we all must face. However, if you realize that God is a best friend that stands beside you when others cast stones you will never be afraid, never feel worthless and never feel alone. His love is always by our side, his love carries us, cares for us, always finds us, even when we are lost.

“If you have never known the power of God’s love, then maybe it is because you have never asked to know it I mean really asked, expecting an answer.” Today, tell him to show you who He is and thank him for it!

Where Are You Christmas? Because we need a minute to thank the giver

  1. The part about running behind the gift and forgetting the giver is so true and striking. It’s not something that we might do intentionally. Yet, we still end up forgetting the one true God who made every effort to get us the best gift…
