Where Are You, Christmas? (S3E5)

“Best of all, Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.”

Mary slowly brings her song to a conclusion by saying, “He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”

While we are mostly blinded by the presents, the trees and the celebration of it, one itsy bitsy factor which is one of the most important that we many times forget is, that the baby that’s lying in that manger holds something incredible, something our simple minds can’t fathom, something so amazing that we are left with awe and gratitude that needs more than a lifetime to express. That baby holds a promise. A promise of eternal life, a promise of a better tomorrow, a promise of a blessed life, a promise no mere mortal can offer, a promise that will shine for all eternity.

When that baby was born, the people around celebrated, look around, they still celebrate. And in Him you are given a promise. Now what is it that you want? What is that promise that you are holding on to? Whatever it is, remember one thing, he will bring it to completion. We don’t serve a God who just makes empty promises like the people of this world. If he’s told it, he’ll do it!

“Frederick Buchner once said, “It is impossible to conceive how different things would have turned out if that birth had not happened whenever, wherever, however it did for millions of people who have lived since, the birth of Jesus made possible not just a new way of understanding life but a new way of living it. It is a truth that, for twenty centuries, there have been untold numbers of men and women who, in untold numbers of ways, have been so grasped by the child who was born, so caught up in the message he taught and the life he lived, that they have found themselves profoundly changed by their relationship with him.”

No birth in the history of humanity has impacted an entire race like the way His did. This season, once the celebration slows down, let us take a look into our lives and think what is the relationship we have with this God? He promised you a better life and a better world, hold onto him, get into a relationship with Him and watch him change your life. Don’t be mesmerized by reading this, when He said he would give you a better life, He didn’t mean the life of your dreams, but a life that is worth living which will glorify Him and Him alone in every waking moment.

“God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith; the warmth of Christmas, which is love; the radiance of Christmas, which is purity; the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice; the belief in Christmas, which is truth; the all of Christmas, which is Christ.”
