Now this pandemic has caused us a lot of trouble and our regular life has gone for a toss. Opinions are flying around and this is an unpopular one. This is not to offend any group or any person.
You needed your friends and family more than you thought
“You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.”
Family is the single most important influence in a child’s life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide for their needs. Parents and family form a child’s first relationships. They are a child’s first teachers and act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them. Now this is the kindergarten thing we have all learned and keep telling ourselves. But in this fast changing world where everyone is focused on building themselves, in the pursuit of happiness we cut several ties to get where we want to, and that includes family and sometimes friends. We don’t have time for family because that promotion is more important, that higher grade is priority, that project is of more importance. Sure, we all need to do our duties, but we many times sacrifice the fellowship of family and friends in the process. We thing the one thing that can be replaced is family. Family is the most important F word in the world.
Now, maybe you were born into a family, maybe you made a family later in your life. Whatever it is, we all have somebody whom we can call family, and if you think you don’t, look around closely, and we all have somebody to call family. For some it is parents and siblings, for some it is friends, for some it is your church, whatever your family is, it is important. And if you can’t make time for them, then there is nothing in this world you can do that will satisfy you. You run around, chase after everything you can and at the end of the day if your family and friends aren’t with you, then what’s the point? You may think your family isn’t like the others, but they are still family and they matter.
Now this season has bought most of us close to our families and friends, since none of us are in a hurry, in the beauty of calmness we realise how blessed family is, how blessed those friends are. You think you can live without them, but you can’t. Now when this is all over, let’s keep holding on to our loved ones, because God placed you among them, and unless God takes them from you, you belong there!

Family is family, in church or in prison, you get what you get, and you don’t get to pick ’em”
