Don’t be a part time Christian because God is not a part time saviour
Today, the world’s largest democracy is celebrating its Independence Day. They celebrate the day they were freed from the colonisers. It was a victory that was the result of a huge and bloody struggle. Many lost their lives all while believing that they are fighting for a good cause and pride. Generations down the line, the nation is still proud of the fact that their grandfathers fought in the war that gave them a free land. They take pride in the freedom of the land and celebrate lady liberty. But the interesting thing is that most people do it only once a day. Indians proudly chant Vande maataram (Mother I bow to thee), but the sad truth is it just becomes One Day Maatharam. People just acknowledge and celebrate it once a year and most times ignore it for the rest of the year. Many times, it’s the same when it comes to the trust and faith we have in Christ. Following Christ is an everyday activity. But most times it just happens only once or very rarely.
“Belief will open the door, faith will help you see the light, but trust will lead you to the promised land.” We know all this but yet we fail to practise it everyday. We don’t believe everyday, we don’t hold on to the faith everyday, and we don’t trust in Him everyday and we wonder why we are not in the promised land. Knowing what faith is, is one thing. Having faith and putting your faith to work? That’s something else altogether. If the faith you have is genuine faith, you need to be applying it to all aspects of your life. As children everybody is taught to trust in the Lord and it sounds easy, but to do it every single day of your life is not that easy. To do it everyday, we need to get out of our comfort zones and to get dirty and go through a phase of not knowing anything and to just blindly trust in Him. And when we do that every single day of your life, your life gets much more beautiful, you start to enjoy the little things in life. You start worrying less and start living life more because you completely trust in the Lord your God. And when storm comes you don’t worry and panic because you know you trust him everyday and that he is faithful. Let’s not be like the people who just show love and trust on rare occasions and let us trust God every single day of our lives because he doesn’t change.
Trust in God everyday, because his mercies are new everyday.
Very true in every sense
