Enough.

“True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have”

Famous Writers Kurt Vonnegut and Joseph Heller was at a party in New York and they were really enjoying it, and this party was very extravagant, the house was filled with expensive paintings, biggest celebrities performing, the finest wine and the most extravagant display of wealth and Kurt Vonnegut turned to Joseph Heller and said, “You know this guy probably made more last week than you made in your entire career” and Joseph Heller smiled and said, “But I got something he’ll never have. ‘Enough’”

We are all in a pursuit of achieving different things. For some it is their career, for some a relationship, for some all the money in the world, for some it’s fame and whatever it is you are chasing, chances are you will chase it till you stop breathing one day. Our never-ending run for achieving all those things is a tale as old as time. At some point you achieve what you set out for and then when you are at the height of euphoria you realize, oh wait there’s more I can achieve, and you cut short the celebration and start chasing again.

Pursuit of success is good, and we all should do it and try to achieve all the success you can possibly gather but the moment it starts to shift you from what’s important in life, it becomes a vice. Seems like we’re all trying to climb a ladder, it’s crazy what we’ll do to climb it faster
It’s like we throw away the things in life that really matter, just so that we can make it to the top, and sometimes once we reach the top, we wonder what we’re even climbing after. You lose focus on what’s important. On the altar of tomorrow’s success, you sacrifice today’s peace, on the altar of tomorrow’s fame you sacrifice today’s happiness. Any success that is gained by sacrificing what matters the most is not worth chasing.

It takes a great man to run behind what he really desires no matter what comes in the way, but it takes an even bigger man to realize what he is losing and tell him it’s enough. Hold on to what is important in life, don’t gamble on love and healing when it comes to chasing your goals. We don’t want to be that person with more hurt than all the money in his life can heal, you don’t want to be that person in the end with all the riches and don’t know what it’s like to love. Some things in life are worth slowing down for. A life can give you a lot of wonderful things but a beautiful life, is one that gives you things which makes you say, that’s enough. That’s a life well lived, that’s a life that is worth living.

Live a life worth slowing down for!
