Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem is a famous Latin phrase taken from book 1 of the Roman poet Horace’s work Odes. It simply means ‘Seize the day’.

Seizing the day, living life fully, sucking out all the pith of life – how marvellous this sounds …Isn’t that the very thing we are here for – to experience life fully?

We are all so focused on tomorrow that we forget to live today. We forget to appreciate the little things that are around us. We are blinded by tomorrow, we fail to see the beauty, that is Today.  When we fail to live in the moment, we are losing out on a lot of things that is much better and beyond what we could achieve one day. It’s always good to have our mind focused on what we want to become, but that shouldn’t hinder us from realizing who we are today. Today never repeats it goes on and on, as we move along with it, it’s important to look around us and relish the people around us and the things around us which make our life amazing. Not a lot of people get to experience today.

You have a gift, which is called ‘today.’ It is a gift that allows you to see all the beautiful things in the world, have fun, love, and experience being loved. Each day you choose to ignore those things, it is like kicking that gift in the face. Other people who are not as lucky to have the gift of today would give anything to experience life the way you can. When you open your eyes, look around, feel grateful for another day of adventure, fun, and love. Count as many blessings as you can, because trust me there is a lot! Every day we need to refocus on what matters – making the most of it! What you expect for tomorrow may never happen. Therefore, make it about today. Take what comes, work with it, and make the most out of every moment that you have. If you always live with that mindset, then you will handle everything that comes to life in a much better way, even if it doesn’t appear to be like how you expected it to be.As you work and dream for a better tomorrow, don’t forget to live now, enjoy the process, the whole dream is a process but you will live every step fully in the present. The goal is the journey. That is important and it brings both worlds together: the dream and the Today.
As the great Scottish warrior William Wallace once said “Every man dies. Not every man really lives.” The One above has given us a gift, and it’s important how you use it, use it to the fullest, don’t just throw it away.

Wake Up, Live and Seize the Day!
