Tears Dry on their Own

“Just like there’s always time for pain, there’s always time for healing.”

Pain and tears are our co-passengers. Not the ones we probably signed up for but the ones that came along, the ones that we just can’t get rid of, the uninvited buzzkills. But how much ever we desire a life without it, the more we realize that there is no life without it. Our wounds and pain make us. It makes you, you. And all of us carry wounds from the past, some deep, some momentary, some may feel eternal and some may be fleeting. No matter the degree of the wound, we all carry it. Wounds of a relationship, wounds of a failure, wounds of a wrong choice, wounds from unknown realms, no matter what the pain is, it’s not eternal. It may feel like it, but it’s not. Now some wounds cannot be healed and some wounds may be healed but the scar remains, but our pain goes away if we let it. Our pain will go away on its own and that’s what time does. Tears dry on their own. It may feel like the end of the world, it may feel like your whole world is shattered, but that pain will go away.

“Pain is a pesky part of being human, it feels like a stab wound to the heart, something we wish we could all do without it, in our lives here. Pain is a sudden hurt that can’t be escaped. But then also we learn that because of pain, we can feel the beauty, tenderness, and freedom of healing. Pain feels like a fast stab wound to the heart. But then healing feels like the wind against your face when you are spreading your wings and flying through the air! We may not have wings growing out of our backs, but healing is the closest thing that will give us that wind against our faces.”

Let’s give ourselves to healing. Let’s let the cold wind of comfort go through the wounds and let your pain float away with time. Time teaches us to look into our past from a different perspective. The moment when something traumatic happens, we always feel like we are never going to get out of this horrible situation. Our emotions are constantly changing, depending on the situations and the environments we are exposed to. So, it’s pretty much impossible to keep that same intensity of emotions, for any of those “hard” times everyone experiences in life. We’ve all had those days we cried for days and nights, but every day, it got a little bit easier. The mantra is while times can be tough and everyone goes through different things, this can be universally said: each day everything gets easier and time heals everything.

It’s not forgetting that heals. It’s remembering!
