The world celebrates Love today! Love being professed, love being gifted, love being denied, love being declared. Love is all around! Now you can be that person who follows the tradition and likes it or you can be a person who tries to show to the world that you don’t care about it with every ounce of strength. If you like it, it’s your prerogative and if you don’t, give it time, the dust settles in a few days.
In a chaotic world, something as subtle and sacred as God’s love can be hard to recognize. God’s love is easier to find when we create moments to seek it out.
We all go out of our way to find love and to keep it but most times the greatest love ever shown for mankind is right in front of our eyes and we miss it. We walk right past it and continue to live in a world of hate and pain. We look past this amazing love and focus on the negative, we focus on the hurt that we endure, we divert our attention to the torment we suffer in this world. You might have your doubts;
but the love of God never fails.
He will never leave you nor forsake you. Today, you failed. But trust in God; tomorrow you will be firm and immovable like a rock.
Yes, God loves you. It is an undying love; an everlasting love. He loves not because you deserve his love; but because he decided to love you even before you were born. What greater love do you know than being called a child of God! Love has been lavished on you. You might say you have sinned against him much. Let that be true. But the greater truth is you’ve been forgiven much.
God’s love is not just about emotions. He loves you so much that he disciplines you to make you better. He doesn’t leave you to be comfortable with your sins. His love shines a penetrating light in your darkness so that you see who you really are and what God wants you to be. Finally, there is no place on earth where you are outside the love of God. His love is long, wide, and deep, it is higher than you can reach.
Today, you can open up your heart to God’s love for he has said, “I have loved you with an everlasting love!” That’s your Valentine right there! So let’s live life like we’re loved! Let’s go out and show the world the love that we’ve been given. Let’s love others like he loved us, unconditional.
