“Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.”
“Peace on Earth”, “peace on earth” it’s a line from most of our Christmas hymns. The baby we celebrate did bring peace on Earth, because for starters the world really needed it. In the 10th Century, there were a lot of events that were happening. One thing that was very common throughout the world was that there were a lot of settlements that were happening. Though it is not what makes the Century special, but it was something that stood out and peace is an important thing the world needs.
Peace is what the world is dying for. All the wars we fight are for peace, ironic isn’t it?
From every child that lost their parents in a war torn land, to every father who lost his daughter to a lustful demon of a person, to every mother who lost her son in a war, to every brother who lost his sister to the evils of the world, the world is in a state of chaos and pain, and all that the world needs is peace. It can’t be bought, it can’t be sold.
We’re at the most wonderful time of the year. The season of Joy, then why is my fellow citizen fighting for his basic right? Then why is my fellow sisters afraid to live in her own land, then why am I afraid to believe in what I believe in? The world is a nightmare, it’s like a bad dream from which we can’t wake up from. There has always been conflicts, wars and pain, but we’ve come to a point where if this goes on, we will end this world and ourselves. We’re in a time where peace is what we all need, but no body wants to do anything.
We’re at the month where the world is celebrating the birth of a man who personified peace. Let’s look to the child in that manger, because there lies the only one who can bring peace upon all mankind. He’s the only one who can give us peace, he said it once and he did it once, and as the followers of somebody who wished and gave peace upon all of mankind, it just doesn’t become our obligation, it must be something we should focus on every day of our lives. This Christmas why not advocate for peace, you may not be able to gift every person you know, but a gift we can give to the world is peace. Let’s live peaceful lives, and more importantly help somebody else to lead it too. Let’s stand up against hate, let’s do what we can for peace upon everyone and also let’s ask the God of all creation to pour out his peace upon the land. In this season of Joy, let’s advocate for peace and make this world a better place, for the lord of all creation was born on this earth to bring peace.
