“Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection.”
Christmas is a time of joy, pleasure, family, fun and a lot more. It must also be a time of reflection. When we reflect upon all that we enjoy, let’s not forget that it all came from that baby placed in the manger. As we see the evolution of Christmas, we’ve crossed a lot of years and as we take a holt at the time surrounding the 12th Century, what made it so special? 12th Century is considered to be the year of Renaissance. Though ‘The’ renaissance happened in the 15th Century, 12th Century is where it all began. The renaissance that happened in this century is what started the fire.
It bought about a lot of change in the world. From historical, to cultural, to social, to political, the face of the earth was changed in ways that it was the beginning of a revolution. Change is what echoed through that century, change is what the world saw. And when you talk about Christmas, it is what is important. A change. For them Christmas meant change. A change in the way they did things, a change in their lifestyle, a change in their nations. And Christmas is about change. The virgin Mary’s life was changed when that baby boy was conceived, the silent ignored state of the little town of Bethlehem was changed when that baby was born there, and humanity was changed when that baby was born.
This Christmas, why don’t we try to bring a change. Share the message of Christmas through our lives, let the world know the meaning of Christmas through our lives. Let the world see what the baby meant for the it, through our lives. Maybe if those around us can see something different this Christmas, maybe that would be the best gift you can give them this season (But give real presents too). When we change, our surrounding changes, and when my surrounding changes, my community changes, when my community changes, my nation changes, and when my nation changes the world changes. How wonderful would that be, to see heaven rejoice. We could be the reason for heaven’s rejoicing. Because on the season when the baby changed the world, why can’t we go ahead and do our part and celebrate everything that child did for us. Oh! There’s no greater way we can celebrate the season.
Oh! What a joy would fill the earth, when everyone follow the footsteps of the saviour and bring about a change, first in their lives and then among those around them. The world as we know it was changed once on that glorious day, let’s be the reason it does again.
