“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”
Que Sera Sera is a Spanish term which simply means, ‘What happens, happens!’ That is life! You never know what happens to you. It’s like a wise man once said, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get’ Life is a tricky journey, just when you think it’s going to be a beautiful day of sunshine and rainbows, life throws a thunderstorm at you. And what’s more annoying than something bad happening to us? Is the fact that there is nothing we can do about it! Because in life, what happens, happens! But there is a silver lining in it. There is nothing you can do about what happens to you, but you can always control how you react to it. And that plays a very important role.
‘Don’t call the world dirty, just because you forgot to clean your glasses’ Aaron Hill said it right. If our attitude towards what happens to us isn’t right, it will change the impact of what happens to us. Have you ever had one of those days where at the end of the day you are like, ‘Today was a really bad day’ and you are all annoyed and angry about it? The question you need to ask yourself is, ‘Was it a bad day or just 5 bad minutes that you milked the whole day’? One bad thing that happened to you, but that ruined your entire day. Many times, the way we react to things define our entire attitude and outlook of things. Life isn’t always easy, we all really hope it is, but life likes playing games with us. We wake up each day, praying that it would be a good day, and sometimes, life decided to listen to you, sometimes it turns a deaf ear and punches you right in the face. And since there is nothing you can do about, you learn to deal with it. All you can do is focus on what you can do and that is how you deal with what life throws at you. We worry and stress ourselves over what would happen next, like the princess sang, ‘Let It Go’. Why the worry? There’s nothing you can do about, so let go of what happens and embrace how you will deal with the situation. Because your worry and stress isn’t going to change anything. What happens, happens! So buckle up, get punched in the face by life, fall down, but get up and look it right in the eye and say, ‘No problem, I know how to deal with this!’ It’s going to be better!
‘What happens doesn’t matter, who it happens to is what matters’
