From the tile, you may have thought to yourself, ‘We’ve seen a lot of things over the weeks and we are going to end it with Surrender?’ Really? Surrender? So all the hype built up and all was for Surrender?
Still clueless? Wait, it’ll start to make sense soon. Surrender as per our first line is not the end, but it’s a beginning. The beginning to something greater, the beginning to something more glorious. Over the past few weeks, as we’ve been waiting for Christmas to arrive, we’ve looked at many aspects and truths that the world needs and we’ve come to the end of it and the first step to accepting and receiving these truths and meanings is through surrender. And though popular culture and war stories equate surrender with failure, in this case it is the complete opposite of it. We do it a little different, we gain victory by surrendering, we overcome the problems that we face by surrendering!
When we surrender to God, we don’t give up our victory, but on the contrary, we start gaining it. We simply come to a point where we realize and acknowledge that we can’t do it on our own, we need Him. And it is a beautiful experience, once that happens, sit back and enjoy the ride and marvel at how He is going to do wonders in your life. There is a crossroads in life that you will come to, you have read about all the good things that can happen through the baby in the manger! Now the question is, who is going to run your life from now on? You or God? Spoiler Alert. You can never run it as good as God can, and if he does it, you are going to be the luckiest person to walk on this earth. The beauty of life is, if you really let go, it’s just going to be one amazing ride.
Sissy Gavrilaki once wrote, ‘Sometimes, it’s not the times you decided to fight, but the times you decide to surrender, that makes all the difference.’ When you surrender to the perfect hands of God, it’ll be beautiful, because he knows you inside out, because he formed you! And nobody knows you better than your creator. All that we’ve seen has led us to this, the true meaning of Christmas, a look into what it’s all about and how it is different from what the world says, and how it is not just a celebration but an event that can turn your life around. And that turn around happens, when you surrender completely to Him. The sleeping child in that manger, is the one who holds the power to turn your life around, to make you a better person. This season, as the world looks and says how cute the baby in the manger is, let’s look at that Baby and see, God himself, who can do great things in your life and all it takes is to surrender, and then see the victory and glory he’s going to give you.
When the going gets tough, the tough simply surrender to God!
