Sequence of the Consequence

Why?

Oh! But Why mine?

The blood of the slain screams

But, Why?

Why do I share that blood?

Why did I lose in your battles?

Here dead we lie

Is this the reward of innocence?

I see the sun setting

Never to be rising in me

The brawl of some men

In flames, the lives of other

They lie here, sleeping in deadly peace

Sounds of violence, their last memory

The book of sorrow overflows

Names etched in the book of death

The smoke blinds my vision

Oh! They return

To gather the remains of this mutiny

The stars shine no more

The glow lost in this annihilation

Oh! The celestial’s mourn this carnage

Who bears the answer to this holocaust?

It struck like a prowling beast

Shuddering, waiting for it to fade

Wishing, this evil to shed away

Time forbade to heal this wound

Who wanted it? Who fought it?

Who lost it all?

Why has humanity been forsaken?

While I lie waiting,

For that rendezvous with death

They may say we won

But what exactly did we win?

Is it winning?

If we lost it all to nothing?

Everything consumed

In the abyss

Tell me once again

Who owed it all?

Why was it paid in blood?

Ignite the flames of memory

The despicable mysteries

Left for wrangling

Lying, living, dreading

The sequence of the consequence
