“He didn’t come to the well for water, He came for her”
There comes a moment in all of our lives where we are just tired of the mundane, tired of living the life we think is going perfect for us. We like our everyday shenanigans, our pursuit to achieve everything on a check list and our feeble attempt at leaving a legacy behind for a generation that couldn’t care less. And life goes on and on and on. But in that journey, there comes a moment at the well. A moment so perfect, it had had to be written by somebody that’s perfect. A moment that when it happens, the whole life around us stops and like a dash of sunshine, perspective is thrown at us and we start to realize the true state of our lives, who we are and what we do becomes ever so clear for us.
Today that moment could be yours. Maybe that hiccup at work, or that rough patch in that relationship or that scare in health are not just unfortunate events that happened in an otherwise uneventful life, those are moments of heaven coming down to the earth for a sacred moment. It’s the divine whispering truth into the life of the mortals. Never waste any of those precious moments because those don’t come easy and the ones that come are just that special. Those are the moments that make us, transform us, and build us into what we can always be.
That well always existed and maybe until that day, it was just a place to gossip and share greetings, but that day, the day that was divinely special, that day the well witnessed something more, it witnessed the power of the divine. It stood as a testament to what can happen to a person when the creator gets involved in the picture. Mysteries unraveled before that well, social stereotypes were broken, generational curses were shattered, future was revealed, transformations happened, ethical and moral conundrums were answered once and for all. All in a matter of minutes and in a few words. That’s the power of the encounter.
Well, the well is there even today. It exists for a reason. It exists so we can move on from who we are to what we can be. We can move from what I’ve done to what I can do. We can move from ‘who’s got me?’ to ‘He’s got me’. That well waits for anyone and everyone that needs that change in their life. A change so beautiful that it can only be done by someone that just ain’t ordinary.
An encounter is not what you wait for, it is what you hunt for.
