Rise Above Hate

“In the end nothing we do or say in this lifetime will matter as much as the way we have loved one another”

There’s nobody in this world that hasn’t been hurt. Being hurt is common, rising above it takes courage. From a very young age to where we are right now, we’ve all been hurt by people around us, sometimes by even people we love. And we’ve all cursed ourselves and blamed them and us and keep living in a world of ignorance and hate. We’re constantly reminding of how we’ve been hurt and this does us no good. It takes away our peace of mind, it eats away our precious time, and it ruins our relationships. So maybe it’s time to move on, it’s time to forgive and forget, it’s time to love and live, it’s time to Rise Above Hate. Peace is found when you rise above hate.

It’s not easy, it’s extremely difficult to rise above hate. But it’s a price you pay we have to pay for a peaceful life. We all have a short life to live, and do we really want to waste that life living under the shadow of guilt, to be shackled by hate and to live a life where we can’t appreciate your friendships and relationships. It’s not a life worth living. Life is only worth living if we are able to appreciate it in every sense. And being hateful is not being appreciative.

We all want to be nice, tolerant and caring people, because it feels good. It’s rewarding. However, we are human, and sometimes it can be a challenge to stay in that mindset, especially if people are deliberately cruel and hateful and many times, people are! Anger and hate are so blind and dangerous, usually the safest reaction is to simply shutdown and ignore. Because the same emotions can come up when we witness intolerance, and sometimes when people hate you, it can sting every nerve inside you, inciting a hate and intolerance for their beliefs even existing.

Hurt and pain. They are the unwelcome passengers on our road trip of life. So, what happens when you find yourself in the midst of a situation you didn’t create and can’t control? A situation that hurts you deeply? Maybe people we thought were friends stabbed us in the back. Maybe people we’ve trusted have talked about us badly. Maybe we’ve been disappointed when something didn’t go our way. Maybe we’ve been hurt by situations beyond our control. Maybe our lives are currently filled with pain. But remember, forgiveness is always an option. It maybe difficult, it may take a lot of effort, but it’s worth it.
