The Son of Mary
“Arise, all ye nobles and peasants; Mary invites all, rich and poor, just and sinners, to enter the cave of Bethlehem, to adore and to kiss the feet of her new-born Son…Let us enter; let us not be afraid.”
In Bethlehem, a star shone bright,
Guiding shepherds through the night.
A child was born in lowly grace,
God’s love revealed in His face.
Jesus, the Son of Mary fair,
Lay in a manger, tender care.
The Prince of Peace, the promised King,
Angels rejoiced, their songs did ring.
Born to save a world in strife,
He came to bring eternal life.
The Word made flesh, the holy Light,
Dispelling darkness, ending night.
Though born in straw, He bore a crown,
A humble King of great renown.
The babe who slept on Mary’s breast
Would bear the cross to give us rest.
His sacrifice, our debt erased,
Through Him, the gift of grace embraced.
This Christmas, let our praises soar,
For Christ is ours forevermore.
Oh, Jesus, Son of Mary mild,
Redeeming Savior, Holy Child,
Our hearts we lift in joyous cheer,
To worship Him, the Lord most dear.
