“Love paid a price so hope could become a reality.”
The world’s celebrations is slowly coming to an end. The curtain is falling on one of the biggest celebrations of the church and Christians all around, and sadly soon maybe the world is going to forget about Jesus until the end of the year but the truth of Easter sounds through all of our lives. The beauty of easter is that nothing could stop love, neither the suffering or the Cross and not even the tomb sealed by the greatest Empire of the time could keep Jesus down. Love found a way through the tomb, love made it’s way through the tomb into the hearts of the billions that breathe all over the world.
“From its very beginning Christianity has been the proclamation of joy, of the only possible joy on earth. It rendered impossible all joy we usually think of as possible. But within this impossibility, at the very bottom of this darkness, it announced and conveyed a new all embracing joy, and with this joy it transformed the End into a Beginning. Without the proclamation of this joy Christianity is incomprehensible. It is only as joy that the Church was victorious in the world, and it lost the world when it lost that joy, and ceased to be a credible witness to it. If man had his way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict. In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus’ fist, but by His nail-pierced hands; not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ our Lord surrendered in order that He might win; He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him.”
And today on this day of Easter, “Remember Jesus of Nazareth, staggering on broken feet out of the tomb toward the Resurrection, bearing on his body the proud insignia of the defeat which is victory, the magnificent defeat of the human soul at the hands of God.” The biggest enemy was defeated by Jesus. His body is scarred, it is bruised, the nail piercing is still there but death was under his feet. He proclaimed the victory over everything that stood in his way and he won the victory for all. Through this act of Jesus and because of what he did, Love has made a way, Hope is never lost and we experience the power of the Cross everyday. The world no matter how much skeptical it can be about the cross, how much ever it denies it and ignores it, you cannot forget the fact that there is power in the Cross even to this day. That power is available today, now, for you and for everyone.
