“Come to Bethlehem and see, Him Whose birth the angels sing, Come, adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King”
Every minute there are hundreds of children being born, all around the world and never once did a baby have an impact on the world it was born into like the one this baby the angels worship did. And many of these babies went on be kings but never did a king become a baby. Many of these babies went on to change the world but never did a baby create the world with his words. Many of these babies tried to make peace but never was a baby a prince of it. Every baby that is born only bring themselves to this earth, they bring nothing else but there was this one baby, a baby the prophets foretold, a baby that had a star as it’s navigation, the baby presented with the finest of gifts. Every baby born bought only themselves but this baby, this baby bought heaven down.
And maybe right now the world is missing a lot of things. Every thing pointing towards a reason not to celebrate and nothing around the world may seem celebratory but everything this world is missing is found in that manger. Every baby born bought only themselves but one baby, one baby bought everything the world’s missing and if only the world stopped living in guilt and regret and stopped looking at the wrong places, if only they looked in that manger, they would find everything they’re looking for. The angels were right when they said, all you need to do is come to this baby in Bethlehem on bended knees.
And in despair I bowed my head;
“There is no peace on earth,” I said;
“For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
the Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!
It may look like peace on earth is a mystery but this baby can change that. The world around is bleeding red, more blood spilled than water drank. Half the world asking Santa Claus for toys and the other half the toys asking Santa Claus for kids. It’s pain and more pain. But when pain is the highest is when we need healing the most. Our world needs healing, it needs a reason to smile again and what better reason than the season that engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. We need more of it and some more but this child has enough and more for everyone. It’s a season to heal, love and live. Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.
Where Are You Christmas? Heal our land, let us love again.
