“And if happiness visits you again, do not remember its previous betrayal. Enter into the happiness and burst”
Life can be a real letdown sometimes. Some days are just the pinnacle of happy things just happening to you, but some days are just one of those days when you wish, “what did I do to deserve all this? Cut me a little slack life, it stings.” And sometimes one of those days comes and never leaves or even when it leaves, it leaves behind a pain and that won’t leave. The pain comes and it just gets comfortable and takes up a room and then just be that tenant that doesn’t look like their leaving just because its nice and cozy up in there. The qualm has taken its place of dominion over your life and suddenly you forget how life can be. At first, it’s normal, it is just one of those days but then it spreads, faster than you’d expect and like and suddenly it affects the life as you know it. One day you wake up and realize you forgot how to smile, not moving muscles in a fashion but genuinely smile, that songs that made you bump your head don’t do the trick anymore.
Life is just what you don’t want, and it is not a nice place to be. And every once in a while, somehow when that annoying tenant is sleeping you see a knock on the door, happiness peeping through the windowpane and for a second your life looks up but then you don’t let it in. you just hide behind the curtain, waiting for it to go away, wishing the knocking would stop. You want it in, your whole being wants to let it in, but there is a force within you that you created that just won’t let it in. your shut yourself off to happiness because you feel like you don’t deserve it, because you fear that if it enters, your current occupant is not going to like it. Inadvertently you want that knock at the door to knock the life out of what’s inside you. But what if it falls short, what if it fails and what if you are scared of it and that happiness never comes back, you don’t want that, so you choose to live with that thing you don’t like.
Maybe today, answer the door, let in that happiness. Let them fight it out because, no matter what the outcome is, you don’t deserve to live in that state of despair, let in that happiness and just burst with that life can be. Quit thinking that you don’t deserve to be in this world and be you in all its glory, shun the thoughts and let happiness through because the least thing you can do is be happy and sometimes it’s the best thing you can do.
Happiness is a choice, not a result
