Incredible India!?

“Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better”

The nation celebrates yet another Republic Day. A day every Indian is proud of being born into this great nation. But when the parade ends, and the tricolor is hoisted and the bands hit the final note of Jai Hai! We go back to a nation torn, a nation that is bleeding, a nation that is hurting, a nation that is in despair. We are proud of our heritage; India has managed to leave its mark in the global eye. A man who is the symbol of peace was born in our land, man who redefined the Grandmaster, grew up in this nation, a nation that has produced some of the finest artists, athletes and legends, a nation which defined democracy at a point in history, a nation whose core values scream freedom unto all.

Where are we now? Why doesn’t things look the same? Why is a girl afraid to walk back home? Why is a man afraid to say a prayer to his god? Why can’t we believe in the nation while believing different ideologies? Why aren’t everything for the people? And of the people? And by the people? Why does it feel like this freedom we celebrate was made to separate the world and create a whole disguise,
Just to keep some people in these chains while the rich get richer, And the poor pray for freedom and perpetuate a lie? Why does it feel like some big joke? How does one man have a hundred billion dollars And we still have people on the street that are broke? There’s a lot of things the citizens want to talk about and get off their chest but who do we talk to? We keep walking, hoping it will get better

Nelson Mandela once said, “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” Now are we truly free? Are we truly a Republic? We have been placed in this beautiful land by a divine choice and we bear a responsibility. A commission that doesn’t just exist once or twice a year. Yes, there’s pain around. Yes, we see no hope. Yes, our hearts worry for the future of our children, but if we are able to cast aside our burdens onto the one who promised to take care of it, He’ll do it. Meanwhile, let’s fight a little stronger, work a little harder, pray a little longer for this beautiful land and even in this hopeless and perilous times, hope for a better nation, a nation that respects God and each other, a nation that grows and along with it helps everyone grows. Because you can blame it, and curse it but we are placed here and there’s a reason. When the people rise together with this purpose in mind, changes will come. A new day will dawn on us. Our nation will live on, as the greatest, not just for us, but for our future generations!
