We are all part of this crazy journey called Life. Opportunities come and go regularly. Truly, there are a lot of opportunities in our lives. We are given the choice to live each day without regrets. When you have breath in your lungs, you have the ability, movement and health, and it is the time to take advantage of the opportunities.
Life opportunities exist everywhere, and it comes in all shapes and sizes, but to identify it is an art. Important and precious opportunities vary from person to person, an opportunity for one does not have to be the same for the other.
Wasted opportunities hurt because they remind us of something that we could’ve had but now that time has gone. If ever an opportunity comes which is worth going for then it should not be wasted. Missed opportunities can haunt you for the rest of your life, so why give yourself the pain of living in regret? Go get ‘em! Every opportunity should be cashed when the time is right.
Once a fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.
Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, “Jump in, I can save you.”
The stranded fellow shouted back, “No, it’s OK, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.”
So, the rowboat went on.
Then a motorboat came by. “The fellow in the motorboat shouted, “Jump in, I can save you.”
To this, the stranded man said, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.”
So, the motorboat went on.
Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, “Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety.”
To this, the stranded man again replied, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.”
So, the helicopter reluctantly flew away.
Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned and went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, “I had faith in you, but you didn’t save me, you let me drown. Why?!”
To which God replied, “I sent you a rowboat, a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
Don’t be that guy!
Opportunities arise as one goes through life, whatever phase you are going through in life. Opportunities present themselves at certain times. The person who does not grab those chances would have wasted them. Opportunities are missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Opportunities may present themselves, but one must be ready for them. Such is life. It is up to us to seize the opportunities that life throws at us. If an opportunity results in undesirable outcomes, don’t blame yourself. After all, you’ve tried!
Remember, in the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.
