Now that’s a name that will get your attention. Despacito is a global phenomenon now. Despacito according to Google Translate simply means ‘Slowly’. Though the song may mean something completely different, ‘Slowly’ is the word many of us don’t follow.
We’re often bombarded with messages that admonish us: “think big,” “go for the gold,” “climb the ladder of success.” And do all this NOW! When we follow this advice, we more often feel exhausted, inadequate or both. Why should this be so? What’s wrong with “thinking big?”
Nothing is inherently wrong with it. But when you start to do everything at a time we miss out on a lot of things. Thinking Big is great, but to think big, first, we need to start slow. But sadly what happens many times is that in the process of conquering the world, sometimes we tend to forget the little things in life.
Why? What’s so great about the little things in life?
The great mind that gave you Sherlock Holmes once said, “It has long been an axiom of mine that little things are infinitely the most important” The little things, the little moments – in life aren’t little. They become the cornerstone of our days and they create the life we live. They gradually paint the masterpiece that is life, yet we mistakenly believe that only the big things make a profound difference. Open your eyes to the details, and relish in what you see. Find beauty in the forgotten path. Enjoy the little things that are happening around you, because it’s not how much we have but how much we enjoy that creates happiness. In this ever-changing busy world when we fail to see the little things around us, we not only hurt others around us we also hurt ourselves. Live today, because tomorrow is not ours. Dreaming is great, every person must dream. But the dreams should never be at the cost of today’s happiness. We are all so focused on achieving the great things, we always forget that the great things are made up of a lot of little things. Look around, just for a moment focus on that little thing that put a smile on your face, that one person who every day tries to make you happy. Think about that one thing or that one person and imagine how your life would be different without that, or how life would be incomplete without them. All those things may not appear to be a big deal, but it is! in this journey we call life. American writer Robert Brault once wrote ‘Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were big things.” The reason many times we mess up the big things is because we ignored the little things
